Tower Bridge
London, England is absolutely full of famous tourist sites. Whether it be Big Ben, Abbey Road, Buckingham Palace or the Tower Bridge. Everywhere you turn, you'll find something new to look at.
When I traveled to London for the first time, I knew that I wanted to see the London Bridge - made famous (at least in my eyes) by the children's song, "London Bridge is falling down...falling down...falling down..."
I had assumed that it would be a pretty spectacular bridge - based on this song. And so, I put it into my agenda to go and find it.
I wasn't entirely sure where it was, but as I was walking I noticed what I now know to be the Tower Bridge - and so, I assumed it was the London Bridge.
It was only after I got there and walked down it in its entirety that I realized that it wasn't, in fact, the London Bridge, but was the Tower Bridge.
The Tower Bridge is the one you see in movies and photos about London - not the London Bridge.
It's a pretty spectacular bridge, as far as bridges go. It's very much very British in style.
While made for cars, there is a pedestrian path. It takes you straight to the Tower of London - which conveniently was my next stop in my day-tour of the city.
If you have the chance to cross this magnificent bridge - make sure you don't make a fool of yourself by calling it by an incorrect name and having a passerby correct you. You'll feel a lot smarter.
