Natural History Museum of Utah

There are so many places in Utah where one can take scenic pictures of the surrounding. Once such place I recently visited is in Salt Lake City, near the campus of the University of Utah at the Natural History Museum of Utah.

It's perched on the East side of the campus, about as close to the mountains as you can go - right next to the Red Butte Garden.

Once inside, one can spend several hours touring the inside of the building and all that it has to offer. Just as any natural history museum, you can expect to find ancient artifacts and fossils.

This natural history museum, however, has even more dinosaur bones than most. That is because the most dinosaur bones in the world have been found in Utah.

About midway through the tour of the building, there is a place that you can leave and step outside to take a break, get some fresh our and see some outside facilities. That's where I took the above picture.

Because the building is located so high up, nearly on the mountainside, one can get an expansive view of the Salt Lake valley.

I loved being able to visit this natural history museum because of not only the history lesson but also the scenic view upon exiting.

I would definitely recommend a visit to the Natural History Museum of Utah if you have an afternoon to kill.
