Bicentennial Park

The other day my friend called me up saying that he wanted to take some pictures at a place with an interesting backdrop. I thought about where we might go for a while before remembering a great park with a walkabout that just might fit his needs.

Enter Bicentennial Park in Provo, Utah.

This is a great little park that I've played disc golf at on multiple occasions (Beware of the pond on hole seven - my cousin lost his disc to it, a tragic moment indeed).

The park is full of trees and grass and even has a dog section fenced in.

Next to the pond is a very swampy-esque area with a walkabout. Now, on this particular day that I went with my friend to take pictures, that entire area was fenced off. It appeared to be under construction.

That didn't stop us.

We quietly hopped over said fence and scurried over to the walkabout. We had the place to ourselves.

It made for some fantastic picture opportunities (see above for example).

The walkabout curves this way and that, jutting off onto other walkable areas. It also has many plaques and benches.

The walkabout at Bicentennial Park is a great little getaway if you're looking for an interesting maze of paths with a jungle-like feel. I highly recommend you stop by for a short visit!
